HOMAGE TO ANURADHA RAMANAN

Anuratha ramanan’s demise brings me much sorrow. Why only me… the entire world of writers berieve her loss. She is just 69. Having begun her writing career in late 70s, She has been writing for more than 25 years.

She is a very senior writer and am extremely pained that we have lost her. In fact, I now recall …. a few of my friends telling me me that I resemble Anuradha Ramanan.

She is a creator of more than 1000 short stories and many novels. Her recent “Anbudan Antharangam” has dealt with various personal issues of many women and also given proper advice and direction to their problems. She has councelled many woman through her writings.

None can forget her novels Sirai and Oru Veedu Oru Ulagam. She took her life as a challenge. Though she has lost her husband at a very young age, she had the strength to withstand the lonely journey of life without any support and she faced life with self-confidence. I still remember what she said in one of her interviews long back. The one who learns to swim, must learn to swim along with the river first and if he does they easily swim against the current later. I think now she chose to go along with the current of life but could never be back.
